Benevelli Piero - Langhe Nebbiolo DOC 2021

Beautiful traditional Nebbiolo from Benevelli. Clear, washing and pure. Lots of fruit and nicely present tannins. An almost transparent, rust-red color in the glass. Black and red fruits predominate, blackberries and cherries. Slightly spicy and firm aftertaste. Pleasant and spicy in the mouth, full and characteristic, dry and clean on the tongue. Pure Nebbiolo as Nebbiolo was meant to be!

BENEVELLI PIERO

The authentic winery Benevelli Piero is located in Monforte d'Alba in the frazione San Giuseppe. Today the house is run by Massimo, a modest man who produces some beautiful wines in the traditional way. For the maturation of red wines for storage (except for Barolo Mosconi). only large wood is used, with the exception that the Barolos are raised in tonneaux for the first year. This produces three quality Barolos, from his three different vineyards, all located in Monforte and of which Le Coste is located next to his cantina. Massimo is of the old school, there is not even a sign on the road to indicate that you are actually at a winery, let alone that there is a website available for this quality house. These are the houses we love. Authentic, honest, with respect for the country and its traditions.

Since 2012 we have been living in the Barolo village of Serralunga d'Alba and we have lost our hearts to the beautiful landscape with wine hills, mountains and castles and the passionate and friendly winegrowers and their wines!

After running a boutique hotel for a number of years in this land of kings, castles and wine, since 2015 we, as Barolo Wine import, have fully focused on discovering high-quality wines from this gastronomic heaven on earth. Actually unavoidable when the vast majority of your neighbors are Barolo winegrowers. This special selection of wines is 100% own import and is available via the Barolo & Co online store.

In addition to offering the most delicious wines, we also enjoy doing wine tastings at our house in Serralunga d'Alba and organising the Barolo wine tours twice a year. Our integration, knowledge and passion for this region guarantee unforgettable experiences.

We are a small quality importer. Our strong point is that we are completely integrated in the place where our wines originate. Barolo is literally and figuratively in our blood, or “Barolo nelle vene” as they say here. Take advantage of our privilege to live here. Since 2012 we have been living in the wine village of Serralunga d'Alba since 2012 in this beautiful Piedmontese bordering the Barolo vineyards.

It is, in every respect, the heart of our wine activities and serves as a wine tasting location, warehouse, drop-in center for winemakers and wine drinkers, photostudio, cantina and so on, but above all it houses the love for the Barolo region.
