WE ARE BAROLO & CO
We are Nicolaas and Esmaralda and we live among friendly winegrowers in Serralunga d'Alba, one of the eleven Barolo villages.
Our history
In 2010 we immediately fell in love with this beautiful wine region in Northern Italy. Two years later we owned a hotel here and from 2015 we started importing the most beautiful local wines. In 2016 we closed our hotel, bought an authentic Piedmontese farm house with a view over the vineyards and started to focus entirely on the purchase and sale of quality wine from Piedmont and in particular the Barolo region. Living here has created a natural selection of special wines that we have enjoyed for years and which are now also available to you through our online store.
Barolo & Co
The name Barolo needs no explanation. The King of wines has lived up to his name long ago and will continue to do so until the end of time. Most likely the most noble wine in the world in all facets.
The Co section stands for the passionate winegrowers we work with, the trips we organize, for our club members and for all the other great wines that are produced here in addition to Barolo, including Dolcetto, Barbera, Freisa, Arneis and Nascetta of course BarbaresCO should not go unmentioned, the wine that, in addition to Barolo, is inextricably linked to this royal wine region full of Nebbiolo vines!
100% own import
We only import wines that we fully support and we serve both private customers and the catering industry. The fact that we actually live here gives us in many cases that little bit of an advantage over any other importer. We also have the opportunity to taste every vintage at all our winegrowers and therefore know in detail what we sell.
All our wines are our own imports and we focus on the smaller family houses that strive for quality and naturally work organically (as much as possible) and are not or almost not present in the Netherlands. In other words, if you are looking for beautiful unique wines from Piedmont, you came to the right place!

You can also contact us if you want to travel to this beautiful wine region yourself, both in a group or on your own initiative. We can inform you about sleeping accommodations, sights and restaurants and of course which wineries you should visit!

We have been living in Piedmont for 12 years now and prefer not to hide our enthusiasm about this. We are really the biggest fans of the Barolo wine region. In this magical hilly landscape full of vineyards, medieval villages and castles. Through Barolo & Co we hope to convey our enthusiasm to you!
