Boscareto | Barolo MGA

Boscareto is an MGA in the municipality of Serralunga d'Alba, located south of the famous Francia cru. The vineyards are situated on west-facing slopes at a relatively high altitude, with soils consisting primarily of calcareous marl from the Middle Miocene (Serravallian: Lequio formation).
Barolos from Boscareto are generally characterized by a firm structure, pronounced tannins, and good freshness. In their youth, the wines are often compact and powerful, while bottle aging provides greater complexity. Common aromas include red fruit, roses, spices, tar, and licorice.
Boscareto borders directly on the well-known Francia MGA. Both crus share similar calcareous marl soils and a location within Serralunga d'Alba, but Boscareto has a slightly cooler exposure. As a result, the wines often display a tight structure and a pronounced mineral signature, consistent with the classic profile of Serralunga d'Alba.
