Bricco delle Viole | Barolo MGA

Bricco delle Viole is one of the highest altitude MGAs in the municipality of Barolo, with vineyards between 370 and 490 meters above sea level on predominantly west-facing slopes. The soil consists of weathered, layered Sant'Agata Fossili marl.
The altitude and open exposure give the wines a taut, fruity style with notable freshness — leaner than the neighboring Fossati, but less compact than the wines from Serradenari further away. Despite its cooler position, Bricco delle Viole does not necessarily require a warm year to reach its full potential.
