The wine
This young Barolo from the cru Brunate is perfect for drinking. Reddish brown color in the glass. Lots of fresh fruit, round, sal ammoniac notes. Fine tannin. Juicy and lots of ripe fruit in the mouth and an almost sweet aftertaste. Jam is probably the magic word. Elegance with muscles!

CLAUDIO BOGGIONE
Boggione is one of those finds that you don't make every year. Hidden behind the Cannubi vineyard in Barolo is a tiny winery that produces 6000 bottles of amazing Barolo per year. For generations, the Boggione family has been growing grapes on the Brunate and Cannubi vineyards, of which only the former is still owned by the Boggione's today. Claudio is a cheerful Barolo winegrower, no fuss, roll up your sleeves and work. Like his parents did and before that his grandparents. Time has stood still, in the small office there are trophies from one or another competition won, an Alpini hat with matching feather hangs on the cupboard, certificates of prizes won with his wine proudly hang on the wall. Nonna hoes through the hallway, a wooden ceiling and a barking truffle dog outside. This is Barolo at its best.
Claudio owns one and a half hectares in the far south-eastern part of this famous cru and has been producing approximately 6,000 bottles of fantastic Barolo under his own label since 2006. We work completely organically and in a traditional manner with a maturation of 24 months on both Slavonian and French oak botte.
