X wine glass for Barolo & Nebbiolo

For our glass supplier, we did not make any hasty decisions and ultimately ended up with a traditional glass blowing factory in Austria. The X wine glass was created with the intention of being universally applicable and in our opinion it is. Both our Nebbiolo-based wines and the other red and white wines from the Barolo region come into their own very nicely. This glass very nicely retains the aromas that the wine releases in the glass. The not too large size ensures that the glass flows smoothly and is pleasant to drink.

ABOUT VULINI

Glass occurs in nature, it is nothing more than a "solidified liquid" that forms after certain minerals, mainly quartz sand, are melted by a sudden increase in temperature - see lightning, volcanic eruption or meteorite impact - with subsequent recompaction. The history of glass and the transformation of glass masses began several millennia ago, but the story we tell you today is linked to a small glass factory and the creation of X-Glass.

Austria has developed into a country of glass and crystal in recent decades, thanks to important names who created their first collection of tasting glasses in the 1970s. In-depth knowledge of the material, in this case wine and crystal, forms the basis for a design that favors rounded corners and narrow to wide openings. All summarized in the form of a universal glass, suitable for all wines, including sparkling wines, as we are reminded by the symbol letter "X" - More choice of what very appropriately means in Italian "all wines".

The glass should be the mirror of the wine, "feel" its territory and in this case, weighing just over 100 grams, almost disappear while imbued with the echoes of the elements. Each glass is unique, handmade from a mix of minerals in which barium replaces lead. In the factory, a team of eight specialized craftsmen work on the production of an average of 300 glasses per day: the most difficult step, as it turns out, is to make the foot by hand after pulling out the stem, i.e. the bottom.

Lightness, versatility and resistance. Three adjectives that add up, even multiply, for the experience of mixing with wine and its bouquet.
