Mosconi | Barolo MGA

Mosconi borders directly on Ginestra and largely shares its soil: sandy Sant'Agata Fossili marl, with Diano sandstone and the Lequio Formation in the higher sections. On average Mosconi lies slightly higher than Ginestra, with a similar exposure that in some places, such as Vigna Ped, turns more towards the east.
Despite the strong similarity in terroir, wines from Mosconi typically show slightly rounder tannins and a more balanced character than those from Ginestra, which are often more austere in their youth. The vineyards of Mosconi are also smaller and more enclosed, which may contribute to a microclimate of their own.
