BENEVELLI PIERO
The authentic winery Benevelli Piero is located in Monforte d'Alba in the frazione San Giuseppe. Today the house is run by the founder's son, Massimo, a modest winegrower who produces some beautiful wines in the traditional way. Only large wood is used for the maturation of the red wines, with the exception that the Barolos are matured on tonneaux for the last year. This produces three quality Barolos, from his three different vineyards, all located in Monforte and of which Le Coste is located next to his cantina. In addition to the high-quality Barolos, Massimo produces four red wines that are all authentic to the region; Langhe Freisa, Dolcetto d'Alba, Barbera d'Alba and a Langhe Nebbiolo, all pure and real. It is not without reason that the winery has "Famiglia Contadina" (farming family) on the label. That's how they feel, they have been that way for 100 years and that's how they will stay. This also applies to the wines that are unadorned, the house's vision is that you should taste the grape and the terroir in the wines. Massimo is not really into PR anyway, for example there is not a single nameplate along the road to indicate that you have actually arrived at the winery. They also have no intention whatsoever of putting a website online. These are the homes we love. Authentic, honest and with respect for the land and tradition.
