Small but nice certainly applies to this fantastic family business from the Langhe. Near Monforte in the hamlet of Perno, a cantina which produces the most delicious wines. They produce just 12,000 bottles annually and every bottle is a hit.
After the death of her father Stefano, daughter Chiara and her husband Clemente built a small but high-quality arsenal of traditional Peimontese wines. Barolo, Nebbiolo, Barbera, Dolcetto and Arneis. Viticulture as it has been practiced in Piedmont for centuries, unknown small family businesses with jewels of wine.
After the late Nebbiolo harvest in the Langhe, they leave together for the south of Italy to harvest the olives from the Clemente olive grove, which has its roots in the south of Italy .

The wine
Perno at its best! Ruby red colored Barolo from Oreste. Ripened red fruit; cherry, especially blueberry, cherry and licorice, are the aromas that are released in the glass. Pleasant spicy tannin with a full, washing and silty spicy mouthfeel. Very nice and persistent aftertaste!
