MGA GABUTTI

Geological map of the Barolo MGA Gabutti.

Home to the famous Cappellano, who produces his Pie Franco and Pie Rupestris here, and of course our own Franco Boasso, whose cantina is located right in the middle of Gabutti. Primarily thanks to Cappellano, it has long been a historic vineyard where iconic wines were and are still made. It was also here, in the late eighties, that the same Cappellano dared to plant several rows of ungrafted Michte Nebbiolo. In other words, the original Nebbiolo vine from before the phylloxera outbreak in the second half of the 19th century. Which, incidentally, are still standing healthy today!
