CASTIGLIONE FALLETTO
Castiglione Falletto is located on the ridge between the villages of Barolo, Serralunga and Monforte. The skyline is dominated by the beautiful castle, which is visible from all over the region. The Barolos from there are generally considered the perfect Barolo blend, with the deep aromas of La Morra and Barolo and the structure and tannin of Serralunga and Monforte. Perhaps it is unnecessary to mention that this naturally varies within the municipality of crus.
It is a beautiful village to see but not very lively. They have a great botega (also functions as a restaurant) with wines from all producers in the municipality. If you find yourself in Castigione, visit La Terraza di Renza, red and white tin tablecloths and a heavenly view, as well as a fantastic wine list and the famous cucina Casalinga.
Famous vineyards in the municipality are; Monprivato (almost entirely owned by Mascarello Giuseppe), Villero, Bricco Boscchis and Rocche di Castiglione.
