Red-brown glass. Super soft and elegant. Very precise Barolo from the cru Boscareto, south of Serralunga. Cherries, spices and a good hint of menthol. Ripe tannins. Soft and tight mouthfeel with the pleasant roundness characteristic of 2020!

Principiano G & F
Dangling at the bottom of the Barolo appellation lies the 4th generation old winery Principiano. An unknown gem that has not yet been discovered by Nebbiolo lovers but which has a bright future ahead of it. Giuseppe and son Francesco run the house with passion and love and both prefer working in the vineyards to advertising their wines at some event.
They own about 8 hectares of vineyards within the municipal boundaries of Monforte and Serralunga and vinify part of it for their own label and sell another part as sfusi (bulk) wine. They work in the traditional way and mature their wines on large Slavonian wood (botte) of 25Hl. They have an extensive portfolio of wines in which the terroir comes to the fore. Precise, robust wines with a lot of backbone that leave a lasting impression.
These are the houses we love, roll up our sleeves and make great wines. Averse to socials and appearances. Just delivering a good product and being proud of it. Chapeau.
