The wine
Deep dark purple in the glass. Thick juicy Dolcetto with notes of cherry and spices. White pepper, sal ammoniac.. cinnamon stick. Dry and earthy but persistently fresh on the palate. The 60-year-old vines produce complex grapes and that makes this Dolcetto very special.

LA CASTELLA
La Castella is a very small family estate in Roddino. The family has a rich history with wine growing and owns almost 5 hectares of vineyards between Sino and Roddino. Rich soil that produces beautiful fruit in a south-westerly sunny direction. Current owner Silvio Cassino initiated bottling under his own label at the beginning of this century. After daughter Monica graduated as an oenologist from the university in Geigenheim, Germany, in 2019, there has been an extra boost in quality and that is paying off in the 15,000 bottles of wine that the house produces. It is not without reason that the world-famous traditional Piedmontese restaurant Gemma, located in the same village, serves the wines of La Castella as house wine.We are extremely enthusiastic about the Rosato and the Dolcetto, but the house also makes a more than beautiful Nebbiolo and the white cult wine Rossese Bianco.
