Mosconi | Barolo MGA

Mosconi borders directly on Ginestra and largely shares the same soil: sandy Sant'Agata Fossili marl, with Diano sandstone and the Lequio formation in the higher sections. On average, Mosconi is situated slightly higher than Ginestra, with a similar exposure that—in some places, such as Vigna Ped—turns more towards the east.
Despite the strong resemblance in terroir, wines from Mosconi typically display a slightly rounder tannin structure and a more balanced character than those from Ginestra, which are often more austere in their youth. Furthermore, the vineyards in Mosconi are smaller and more enclosed, which may contribute to a unique microclimate.
