The wine
This Super Barbera from Corino comes from high-quality vines and orchards. 18 months of aging in large and small wood (50%) give it a pleasant velvety structure. Bright red in the glass. Aroma of ripe red fruit, vanilla and sweet herbs. On the palate it arrives soft and consistent, embellished with light spiciness and a long fruity aftertaste.

CORINO GIOVANNI
Giovanni Corino started making his own wines in the 1980s. Like many people at that time, the family sold the fruit to many wineries in Alba before bottling it under its own label. Nowadays Giovanni spends more time in his vegetable garden than in the vineyards. Giovanni's son Giuliano runs the cantina today, together with his wife Stefania and their two children, Veronica and Andrea. Giuliano and the family work almost exclusively with small oak barrels, also called barrique, and produce approximately 50,000 bottles per year. All vineyards are in La Morra, with the Barolo vineyards in Arborina, Giachini and Bricco Manescotto. In addition to the Barolos, they also make Dolcetto, Barbera and Langhe Nebbiolo.
They use methods for all their wines. Maceration takes place between 5-7 days at a temperature of about 25 to 30 degrees C. The Dolcetto, Barbera and Langhe Nebbiolo mature for about 10 months in steel tanks before being bottled. The Barolos and the Barbera superiore mature in barrique. The percentage of new and old oak depends on the wine and the vintage.
