The wine

With more than 11 years of maturation, this Barbera shows beautiful tertiary notes of tobacco, leather, incense and black cherries that almost jump out of your glass in this exuberant, deeply tasting Barbera. Slow wine is a term that can be seen as an understatement. This is a glass (bottle for those who love it) to spend the evening with , almost a meditation wine. Experience!

FLAVIO RODDOLO

Flavio Roddolo is probably the last of the old school Barolo masters who still produces wine as they did in the early days, without outside influences. Since his first vintage bottling in 1989, no technique has changed compared to that of his father. If you ask Flavio where he learned to make wine, the answer is invariably: “looking at my father”.

His father co-founded the Terre del Barolo cooperative, for this reason the family's grapes have never been vinified and bottled except for family use. After the father fell ill, Flavio took over the reins of work in the countryside and in the cellar, until he decided to bottle his Dolcetto under his own label in 1989. Dolcetto was the first love and also wine that he bottled and which he is still trying to perfect despite lower economic returns. It is precisely in the "simpler" Dolcetto wines that his mastery is demonstrated. Two versions are made, the classic and the superior.

In his cellar he closely monitors the entire process and makes corrections where necessary. He knows every vine in his vineyards as well as every nuance of the evolution of his wines, which he brings to the market after a very long aging in wood. Much longer than the minimum required by the specification. Refinement and maturation that take place in very old barriques in which the notes of wood that are transferred to the wine are not present. He is an artist who works magic with the ingredients until he has brought each vintage to its full potential.

His wines, 6 labels in total, are all decisive and profound, exciting and rustic!
