The wine

Clear straw-like yellow color in the glass. Sparkling fresh wine. Aromas of pineapple and green apple. Nice acidity in the mouth and an interesting aftertaste with notes of musk, tropical fruit and almond.
A beautiful idiosyncratic grape, this Arneis, which does great in Piedmont. Pairs nicely with fish and poultry and with various light pasta dishes.
Arneis from the book!

FRANCO BOASSO

A seemingly endless winding road takes you past various postcard-worthy views through the hamlet of Parafada towards Gabutti, home of the Boassos, a winery that has improved enormously in quality in recent years. Namesake and winegrower Franco, together with his sons Ezio and Claudio, has managed to take his Barolos to a higher level. Certainly helped by the fact that these come from the famous Gabutti, Margheria and Lazzarito vineyards. Important crus in Serralunga for many years. In addition to the red wines, they carry a beautiful Arneis from a beautifully situated vineyard in the Roero and a Moscati d'Asti from Serralunga.

In addition to the cantina producing 30,000 bottles of wine, the family runs an agriturismo, which, like his private house, is located in the middle of the two vineyards Gabutti and Gabutti-Marianot, a stone's throw from Serralunga.
Since the moment they bottled under their own label, the Boasso winery has been working in the traditional way, i.e. a long period of maceration and fermentation and maturation of at least 36 months in large wooden barrels (bott). We are the only importer in the Netherlands to import the wines from this beautiful family business and we are proud of that. In addition to the Barolo, they also produce a delicious Dolcetto, Barbera Superiore and Langhe Nebbiolo as well as a real Arneis from the Roero region and a Moscato d'Asti from a field in Serralunga(!)
