The wine
The 2019 Serralunga has a robust fruit profile with dried cherry and blackcurrant. The aromas that follow are dried rosemary and licorice. Earthy aftertaste; grainy tannin and mushrooms. Home of a Barolo from Serralungese soil!

GERMANO ETTORE
Just outside Serralunga on the Cerretta hill is the domain of Sergio Germano, a winegrower through and through. The new cantina, surrounded by its own vineyards, gives a good impression of the character of the Germano Ettore winery. It is a real family business in which the rest of the family also plays an important role, but which, in addition to traditional values, does not shy away from progress. Innovative is the right word that suits this winery. The figurehead, if only by his imposing appearance, is and remains Sergio. Despite his busy life and passionate way of making wine, he still makes an appearance every Sunday at 9 a.m. in the 12-member church choir, in which he, situated next to the local tailor, shapes (how could it be otherwise) the bass. In the newly built cantina just outside Serralunga, on the Cerretta hill from where the grapes for its excellent Barolo Cerretta and Prapo come and where the family lives, the Germano family has been making wine since 1865, when it all started with great-grandfather Francesco. Since then, the winery has expanded considerably and the current generation has, in addition to a line of fantastic traditional red wines, also focused on producing a number of beautiful white wines. His Alta Langa and Herzu, for example, are household names in the Langhe and far beyond!
